One Step
Before
the Break
This is not rage. This is clarity.
For some — a fracture.
For others — a release.
Sometimes, a painting doesn’t begin with an idea, but with an inner disagreement.
I didn’t know who she was — I just sensed that she was being held.
Braided. Dressed. Named.
And they thought they knew her.
But inside — not a girl. Not a role. Not a princess.
Inside — something more than what was allowed to be seen.
More than a convenient package.
There — a spine, a will, a structure of her own.
She doesn’t scream. Doesn’t break. Doesn’t walk away.
She stays — right at the center of the mismatch.
At the very point between submission — and inner strength.
This is a moment of stillness.
A moment when everything still holds — but something inside has already happened.
Not revolt. Not destruction.
But a crystallized “no.”
Too powerful to be spoken.
Too pure to be ignored.
And in that one step before the break — she is already beyond their power.
She no longer belongs to anyone.
This is not destruction.
This is the restoration of balance.
