Sometimes the purpose of a painting is not to tell a story, but to hold space.
To create a point of balance, where simply being is enough.
It was important to me that the painting did not strive to be understood or merely beautiful.
Its essence is composure: form, stillness, strength.
Some may see something demonic in this figure.

For me, it is not about evil, but about calm despite.
Where inner composure requires no effort.
I do not work with paint in the conventional sense.
I gather meaning into form.
And Self-Control is about that.
About form.
A painting where everything is gathered.
Nothing excessive.
Nothing to prove or explain.
Only center.
Only composure.
Only silence.
